You can do so by visiting your character menu and adding these gems to the available sockets of your armor or weapons. Diablo 4 offers 7 different types of gems. These are – Amethyst, Emerald, Ruby, Topaz, Sapphire, Diamond, and Skull. Furthermore, each of these gems has 5 different tiers – Crude, Chipped, Regular, Flawless, and Royal. How to Craft Royal Gems in Diablo 4?
In order to reach the next tier of gems, you need to upgrade them. To do this, you have to have the Gem Crafting side quest unlocked. You will get this quest once you reach level 20 in the game. In this side quest, you will be asked to have a chat with the Kyovashad Jeweler, Kratia. By the end of this conversation, you will have unlocked the ability to craft gems from any jeweler on the map. You will also notice a number of jewelers appearing on the map once you complete this quest.
Now, even then you won’t be able to craft Royal Gems. In fact, you can’t craft them until you hit level 60. Upon reaching this point, you will unlock the ability to craft them. Well, if you want to turn the gems in your inventory into Royal Gems, you will need 3 of those particular gems of the previous tier. Meaning, if you want a Royal Sapphire, you will require 3x Flawless Sapphires. Along with these, you will also need 50,000 gold. If you have all of these items in your inventory, then simply head toward the nearest jeweler and craft the Royal version of the gems.
As you can understand from the aforementioned process, crafting royal gems is quite an expensive and time-consuming process. So if you want to craft these gems, you need to hoard as much gold as possible. Given how only one royal gem costs 50,000 gold to craft, you will need to make sure that your gold supply is strong, considering that you already have the previous tier of gems available at your disposal.
