Bethesda as a game studio is an enigma in itself. The company has some of the greatest, most well-loved RPG games in gaming history. Gamers still play Oblivion and Morrowind, so many years after their launch. Fallout games always have a massive amount of hype around them, no matter what. And Elder Scrolls: Skyrim can’t stop selling. All of this is despite Bethesda’s poor optimization of their games along with the atrocious number of bugs. There are hundreds of video compilations on bugs and glitches in Fallout 76. But the studio remains to stand, ready to produce more games. Microsoft even went on to purchase Zenimax Media, its parent company, for 7.5 billion dollars. And with Bethesda’s new space game, Starfilefd slated to come out in 2023, the hype train is bigger than ever. Just like the one when Fallout 76 was announced.
The Elder Scrolls franchise has always been the darling of the company. This is understandable since it was this that made the studio what it is today. Morrowind, Oblivion, and especially Skyrim have a global wide love for them and are considered classic titles. So, it was only evident that Bethesda would release an MMO centered around it. Just as Square Enix did with the Final Fantasy franchise. Elder Scrolls Online saw its release in 2014 having been developed by ZeniMax Online Studios. Same as most other MMORPGs, ESO required a monthly online subscription to play when it launched. Although it decided to ditch that model and opted for a buy-to-play model when it rebranded itself into The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. The changing of the revenue model meant choosing a newer one with microtransactions. Right now, Elder Scrolls Online is available on PS and Xbox consoles along with a Windows and OS X version. And if the game is on Steam then there must be a way to play it using Steam Family Share right? Well, let’s find out!!
