GeForce Experience Not Detecting Games: How To Fix It

There are a lot of ways to fix this error but no particular one guarantees an immediate fix. Most of these are try-and-see methods, so you need to be patient and focused. If one method doesn’t work, follow the next one.

Update the Nvidia drivers –

It’s recommended that you always update your graphics drivers whenever possible. To do that, open the app. Select Drivers which will be beside the Home option. Next, you will notice a “Check for updates” option. Press that one and wait for the app to detect if an update is available or not. If there is one, then download and install it.

Run the app in administrator mode –

You can also give the app, admin access if it’s unable to detect games in normal mode. Just, right-click on the app shortcut or icon, and select Properties > Compatibility. Below you will see the “Run this program as an administrator” option in the Compatibility tab. Choose it and press ok and apply. Now, the app will run in admin mode.

Ensure that the games are supported by Nvidia –

One major reason why your games are not showing up may be due to them being unsupported by Nvidia. If they aren’t supported then there’s nothing really that you can do.

Allow the app through Windows Defender –

The Windows Defender has been known to block some apps and websites from functioning properly. The GeForce Experience application can face issues if the defender does so. To allow the app in Windows Defender, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Firewall and Network Protection. Next, you need to click on the “Allow an app through firewall” option at the bottom and choose GeForce Experience. Click on both the Public and Private options and press ok.

Update your Windows –

If by any chance you haven’t updated your Windows, we recommend you do so. Doing so keeps your PC in top condition and allows other apps to function without any hindrance. To update, go to your Settings > Updates & Security > Windows Update. Next, click on the “Check for Updates” button and let it run. If an update is available it will start downloading.
