The latest Assassin’s Creed title is finally here. Available for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles, it’s even coming to iOS on the iPhone 15 Pro exclusively. It’s quite a leap for mobile gaming, to be honest. Lots of other Assassin’s Creed titles have already been announced, and fans are more than excited for them. As for Mirage, it follows the story of Basim Ibn Ishaq and how he went from being a street thief to a member of the Assassin Brotherhood. If you are wondering where you heard that name, he’s the assassin that we get to meet in the previous title, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. However, since AC Mirage is a brand-new title, it’s always good to know how much size you are going to need in order to install it.
Games have been constantly ballooning in size in recent years, and it’s really a bummer. While features like DLSS and FSR have helped a lot in allowing players to enjoy games at higher resolution and constant enough frames, it has also indirectly led to developers focusing less on optimization. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Forspoken, and Redfall are some of the best examples of that statement. Valhalla was more than 140 GB in size when included with all the DLC. So, you can see why so many players want to know about AC Mirage’s size beforehand. That said, let’s get right into the details.
How many GB is Assassin’s Creed Mirage on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, & Xbox Series X/S?
Well, the PC size for Assassin’s Creed Mirage download is about 40 GB. Quite low compared to the previous AC title’s base game size. Now, for both PlayStation 4 and 5, you would need around 35 GB to download the game. Lastly, Xbox One and Series X/S will require around 35.5 GB of storage space.
We suggest that you keep at least 45–55 GB free, just in case. But why is AC Mirage so small in size compared to its predecessor, AC Valhalla? Well, the answer is quite simple. AC Mirage is Ubisoft’s attempt at going back to the original trilogy roots. Starting with AC Origins and the last two games, the AC series shifted from being an action-adventure game to an action-role-playing title. While this was a surprising but inevitable genre shift, it also increased the scope of modern titles. Coupled with Ubisoft’s general incompetency around optimizations, the newer titles started to expand in size.
Since AC Mirage is an action-adventure title, it doesn’t really need an open world like AC Valhalla. And it seems like Ubisoft has done its homework, considering the minimum and recommended system requirements are quite good compared to other unoptimized messes of 2023. Let’s just hope Ubisoft continues optimizing future AC titles like this one.
So that’s how much space you will need to download and install Assassin’s Creed: Mirage on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation consoles. If you don’t have that much free storage, you can either delete some games or expand your storage. Although the latter option will require you to throw out some moolah.
