Most players have resorted to playing Cult of the Lamb with a keyboard and mouse when controller issues come up. That would be history when you try one or more of these steps, and let’s admit it, the game is better enjoyed with a controller.

How to Fix Cult of The Lamb Controller Not Working Issue

This issue is not peculiar to this specific game as it has been observed in others too. Here are the steps to fixing it.

Step 1) Unplug and Plug the Controller

This basic action has been found to fix the issue most of the time. Simply unplug the controller and plug it back. You can plug it into another USB port on your PC. Also, you can try closing the game and ensuring the controller is plugged in before launching the game again.

Step 2) Re-enable Game Controller Driver

The issue could be from an outdated controller driver. Here’s how to fix it.

  • Press the Windows + R keys and type in ‘devmgmt.msc’ in the Run Utility.
  • Navigate to the gamepad driver and right-click on it, then click on ‘Disable device’ and select ‘Yes’.
  • Now, restart your PC, and go through the process again but click on ‘Enable Device’ this time.

Step 3) Switch to Wireless Controller

This will rule out the possibility of the issue coming from the USB port or the controller. If the issue persists, then try the next step.

Step 4) Unplug other devices from the PC

Having multiple devices connected to your PC can contribute to this. Unplug them all except the controller and reboot your PC.

Step 5) Disable the USB Selective Suspend Setting

This may sound unrelated but it has resolved the issue in many cases. Here’s how to go about it.

  • Navigate to ‘Power & Sleep settings’ and open ‘Additional Power Settings’ under ‘Related Settings’.
  • Click on ‘Change Plan Settings’ right beside the ‘Balanced (recommended)’ option and click ‘Change advanced power settings’.
  • Expand the ‘USB settings’ and do the same for ‘USB selective suspend setting’, then click on ‘Settings’ and select ‘Disable’.
  • Click on ‘Apply’ and OK to save changes and confirm if the issue is resolved.

Step 6) Update Bluetooth Driver

This applies to wireless controllers. Here’s how to go about it.

  • Right-click on the Start icon and select Device Manager.
  • Then expand the Bluetooth option and right-click on the Bluetooth driver.
  • Select ‘Update driver’ and then ‘Search automatically for drivers’
  • Reboot your PC when the process is completed.
