Far Cry 6 is a first-person shooter action game developed by Ubisoft Toronto and published by Ubisoft in 2021. Far Cry 6 is the sixth entry in the Far Cry franchise. Many players have jumped into the game in hopes to experience the superior texture-lighting graphics, a huge open world map and better action engaging gameplay, as compared to all the Far Cry games before it.
The aiming sight and scope are one of the most crucial aspects of a first-person shooter game, especially in a game like Far Cry 6. Many have faced issues where players were unable to aim and shoot while using a controller on PC. This has been an occurring issue since Far Cry 5. This issue may solely be a bug that entails from it’s controller configuration. Therefore, to overcome this issue you will need to launch the game through STEAM.
Here is a step by step process on how to launch Far Cry 6 through STEAM:
STEP 1: Open Steam and Click on ADD A GAME on the bottom left of the window.
STEP 2: Click on ADD A NON STEAM GAME.
STEP 3: Look for the game in the window that pops up. If the game is not on the list, then Click on BROWSE and find the executable file for the game in the Directory of your FAR CRY 6 installation.
STEP 4: Click on the executable file. This adds it to the list on STEAM. Select it from the list and Click on ADD SELECTED PROGRAMS.
STEP 5: Check your STEAM Library List and Click on FAR CRY 6.
STEP 6: Click on PLAY.
If this does not work, you can also try to map/configure the steam controller settings as shown below:
STEP 1: Click on the STEAM menu and open SETTINGS. The settings menu pops up.
STEP 2: Click on the CONTROLLER option.
STEP 3: Click on General controller settings. This will open a Window.
STEP 4: Click on the Configuration Support that matches your controller. (PSP, Xbox, Switch Pro and Generic gamepad)
STEP 5: Your controller will be listed below if it is detected. Click on Back button at the bottom.
STEP 6: Click OK in the settings. Run the Far Cry 6.
These are the two immediate fixes for Far Cry 6 controller issue. There have been instances when this problem re-occurs after a period of time, however for the time being, repeating this method is the only solution until the bug is resolved.
