Whether the controller stopped working midgame or did not function from the onset, here are possible ways you can rectify the issue at home.

1) Disconnect and Reconnect the Controller

This for most controllers is the equivalent of restarting your PC or console. Doing this step usually resolves the issue in most cases. If it doesn’t, you can launch to the next possible fix.

2) Restart the Game

Restarting the game will most probably rectify the issue. A bad login session might be the cause of this issue, which is why restarting the game is always a good alternative. However, we still have other solutions if for some reason it doesn’t work.

3) Restart Console/PC

Before doing this, disconnect everything from your PC or console. Restart the console or PC and watch the issue disappear.

4) Configure the Controller

This step is mainly for PC users as the controller on PS5 would most probably be already configured. To do this on PC, take the following steps:

1) Launch Steam.

2) Go to Steam settings.

3) Navigate to ‘Controller Settings’.

4) Follow the displayed prompts to see if the controller is detected, or check the necessary boxes.

5) Launch the game to test.

5) Disable and Enable Steam Input

Steam Input service allows Steam users to play controller-supported games but sometimes it can interfere with actual controllers plugged into the PC. To disable and enable this feature:

1) Go to Steam.

2) Head to the library and right-click on ‘Spiderman Remastered’.

3) Select ‘Properties’ and then ‘Controller’.

4) Change status from ‘Forced On’ to ‘Forced Off’.

5) Select ‘Disable Steam Input’.

6) Restart Steam, go back to the home screen, open the Settings again, then enable Steam input and change controller status to on.
