Mortal Kombat 1: How to perform a Fatal Blow?

Do you always find your character having low HP in a fight in Mortal Kombat 1? Are you desperately trying to keep your character alive when playing the game? You can use a fatal blow to give yourself some breathing room. A fatal blow is a concept that was introduced in older MK games and has carried over to MK 1 as well. If you are low on health, this option will become available, and you can use it to save yourself or win back the round.

This option is a last resort if you are very low on health. It can be performed by all characters, and it is a locked and set sequence of moves that deal a set amount of damage. You can critically strike your opponent during a fatal blow for some extra damage, but that is rare and very unreliable. With time and practice, you will be able to consistently hit fatal blows in MK1 that will change the outcome of the match or the round.

Fatal Blows are similar to Super Moves in other fighting game franchises. In MK1, it is a set combo that you can use when you are low on health. When you are at 30% of your maximum HP, this move will become available for you to use. This combo is a set sequence that is unique to each character in MK.

How to perform this move?

Performing this move is very easy. Since you can only do it when you are below 30% health, you will have to wait for that requirement to be met. Once met, you can press the triggers on your controller or a set keybind on your keyboard to start the sequence. This will be L2 + R2 for PS and LT + RT for Xbox. You will have to check your PC keybindings to use this move on your PC.

Once you use this move, you will be locked into an animation that will deal 350 damage to your opponent. This is not counting any additional combos or attacks. It is important to note that this can be done only once in-game. In each match, you can only use this move once. This is regardless of the rounds or the health of the other opponent.

When should you use it?

Using it requires some practice and creative thinking. This is not a guaranteed hit. Your opponent can block it or counter it with a fatal blow of their own. This is more of a tool to clutch rounds or to distract the opponent and open up a combo. You will have to be creative with when and how you choose to use this move when playing MK1. We recommend using it when the opponent is also low or to open up a combo. Regardless, once you use it and it lands, it cannot be used again. If it is blocked or dodged, you can use it in a subsequent round or the same round after waiting for a brief period.

That said, now that you know everything about performing a fatal blow in Mortal Kombat 1, make sure that you use it in the right situations to get the most out of it. We hope you find this guide useful. For more, continue visiting VabSaga.
