Switch resolution from automatic –

The PS5 has a myriad of options that you can use to adjust your screen settings. Go to Settings and look for Screen and Video. Select Video Output and click on it and choose the option titled – Switch resolution from automatic to 1080p or 720p. Remember, you can adjust the resolution from automatic to whatever your liking. See if the issue remains.

Restart the PS5 –

You can also try the tried and true restart fix. Just click on the power option on your PS5, and out of the three options displayed – Enter Rest Mode, Turn off PS5, and Restart PS5, choose the last one. Let your console restart. Don’t forget to save your progress before doing this as you will lose any unsaved progress.

Restart the TV –

Sometimes the problem is rather with the TV itself than the console. If restarting the PS5 doesn’t work it’s recommended that you do the same with your television.

Change your TV’s aspect ratio –

Every modern TV right now comes with something called Aspect Ratio in their settings. The name can differ from one brand to another but they all serve one purpose – change the aspect ratio of the screen. Just go to your TV’s Settings and then to the Display settings. Adjust the aspect ratio here.

Change Display Area on your PS5 –

The PS5 also comes with a display adjuster setting of its own. Just press the X button on the DualSense controller. Head over to Settings and then choose Screen and Video. Search for Adjust Display Area option and select it. Tinker with the display size using the controller D-pad and once you are happy with it, press X again on the controller.

Unplug the HDMI and power cable –

You can also try unplugging the power cable and HDMI from the PS5. Do wait a minute or two before you plug it back in. At times, the HDMI may be malfunctioning and so doing this might resolve the issue.
