Update your console –

Your system performance and the overall stability of the console depend upon the system update installed. An outdated system will do the opposite of this. To update the PS5 go to Settings > System. Next, navigate to System software and then to System Software Update & Settings. Click on the Update System Software. The console will start downloading if there’s an update available. Do remember that there needs to be a good internet connection.

Start the console in Safe Mode –

For the console to start in Safe Mode, turn it off by holding the power button for three seconds. After the console is turned off, press the power button again for seven seconds and wait until you hear a second beep. Lastly, connect your controller to the PS5 using a USB cable and press the PS button. You have now successfully started the console in Safe Mode.

Clear cache and rebuild the database –

To fix the something went wrong error you can try rebuilding the database and clearing the cache of your console. However, you will need to be in Safe Mode to do this. Follow Fix 2 to start the PS5 in safe mode.

Once you are in Safe mode, select option numbered five – Clear Cache and Rebuild Database. Let the console complete the process. After that try playing any game to see if you face the error again.

Restore Console License –

Click on the PS button on your controller. Head over to Settings and look for User and Account. From all the options presented below, select Other. You will notice three more sub-options. Select the middle one – Restore Licenses. A restoring process will start, so let it finish.

Disable the Rest Mode –

The Rest Mode is somewhat the same as Window’s Sleep mode. Your PS5 will go into power-saving mode but will let you keep your background tasks alive. Regardless, this new feature can also lead to the console outputting a Something went wrong error. To disable it go to Settings > System > Power Saving. Choose the Set Time Until Ps5 Enters Rest Mode option. Two new options will be there – During Media Playback and While Playing Games. Select the Don’t Put in Rest Mode option for both.
