PS5 not ejecting disc: How to fix it??

Restart the console –

Sometimes the easiest solution is the best one. In this case, you can try restarting the PS5 before we mess with the complex stuff. Just select the power icon and then choose the Restart PS5 option out of the other three options shown.

Do a power cycle of the console –

You can also try to do a full power cycle of the console if you are unable to get the disc out. Turn off the console. Remove the main power cable from the socket and wait for a good twenty minutes or so. After that, plug it back in and switch on the console.

Use the joystick to eject the disc remotely –

The PS5 gives you the option to remove the disc remotely. Press the PS button on your DualSense controller. Once you are on the home screen, select the disc tile belonging to the game which has the disc installed and click on the options button on the controller. The button is located beside the triangle button. From the option presented, select Eject the disc.

Open up the console –

First of all, do this only if you are comfortable with the idea of disassembling your PS5. If not, better to contact Sony support or a nearby service center.

Take your PS5 into a well-lit room and have a crosshead screwdriver by your side. Don’t forget to turn off your PS5 and remove any connected cables. Next, remove the base of the console after you place the console on a flat solid surface. Have the console positioned in such a way that the PS logo is facing down and the disc slot on the left side of you. Grab the cover edge and pull them up carefully. Once you have done that, grab that screwdriver and use it to turn the screw clockwise. You can find the screw hidden behind a black plastic film. You will be able to see the disc now. Remove it carefully from the optical drive. Put the cover back and don’t forget to tighten all screws.

Contact Sony Support –

Do this as a last measure. Consoles are very complex machines and complex machines break. The same could be here too. You may have a broken disc drive or a malfunctioning circuit. Nonetheless, the best thing to do here is to contact Sony support. If you have a warranty remaining then all the better.
