The French video game company, Ubisoft has been stuck in a loop of OK to Mediocre games for some time. While the new Assassin’s Creed games, particularly Valhalla and Odyssey did manage to break that OK barrier, it is the other titles that have not contributed much. Hyper Scape was a dud, Watch Dogs: Legion was mediocre and Extraction is just meh. Besides that, the upcoming titles like Beyond Good and Evil 2 at this point seem more like vapourware while Skull and Bones look just a reskinned Black Flag naval combat mode. The James Cameron Avatar 2 tie-in game is still in the works, having faced delays due to developmental reasons. None of these things is working for Ubisoft and its loyal fans.
Anyways, released in 2015 for the PS4, Xbox One, and Windows, Rainbow Six Siege saw a massive rise in its popularity thanks to the unique gameplay experience it provided. Later on, the launch of PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Stadia prompted Ubisoft to port the game on these systems too. Unlike Ready or Not, Siege does not have any dedicated single-player campaign but rather focuses on the multiplayer side of things. This has also helped it in becoming an e-sport title which Ubisoft was able to do by partnering with ESL. Due to it being a live-service game, Ubisoft has done a commendable job of releasing regular content rollouts. Unfortunately, Rainbow Six Siege can’t be family shared by Steam users. Like other Ubisoft games, it requires you to be connected to an Uplay account.
