RPCS3 Installation Steps in Detail: Here’s Everything You Need To Know

The first thing to do is download the latest version of the PS3 system software update. To get this, simply go to the PlayStation website via this link. When it loads, scroll down to “Download PS3 Update”, and download it. If your system security does not allow it to download, click the arrow on the warning notification and select “Keep”. Let’s now head to how to download the emulator.

1) First, visit the RPCS3 website via this link, and download the compatible emulator of your OS for your PC, be it Windows, Linux, or Mac. Once it downloads in an extractable format, follow the next step.

2) Use 7-zip to extract the files to your desktop, and then click on the emulator icon and accept the T&C, which includes ticking the guidelines box to agree you have read it.

3) Now, upload the firmware to the emulator by clicking on ‘File’, and then ‘Install Firmware’. Now locate where the PS3 Update File is, and click on it to upload.

4) The next thing to do is set up the controller or gamepad to your convenience, following the prompts.

5) After doing so, go back to the emulator window and click on ‘Config’, and CPU, then tick the ‘Enable SPU  Loop Detection’ option. If you later experience cracks in audio output, simply come back and uncheck the box.

6) Click on GPU next and set Renderer to Vulkan, and set Default Resolution to 1289×720, or increase it to what your PC can handle by upscaling it in the tuner below the Default resolution.

7) Move your cursor to Additional Settings and mark the Vsync and Stretch to Display Area boxes, then click Save. At this point, go to the emulator window and click File and select Add Games. Locate where the games you downloaded are saved and select the folder.

8) Go to the emulator window and click on Manage, and then Game Patches. This will display a request to update game patches, select Yes and then check the box that reads ‘Only Show Owned Games’.  Click Apply and Save when done.

Now, you can click on any of the games you want to play and have a great gaming experience. Stay in touch with Vabsaga for more updates, and kindly share this article with friends.
