If EA has one major constant money-making game, it’s got to be The Sims 4. While players wait for Sims 5 to finish development, the current Sims 4 game has enough content to last them for a long time. Furthermore, EA decided to make the base game free-to-play on all available platforms in October 2022, eight years after the game launched. Upon its release, Sims 4 was lambasted by critics and players alike for not having much content to play around with. These reviews however are from a time when the game was lacking in content. And now, it is far better than what it was back in the day.
Today, Sims 4 has got an incredible amount of expansion packs, kits, game packs, and more. But with EA being EA, they come with a price tag attached to them. As of writing this article, Sims 4 has a total of 61 DLC packs on Steam, rivaling Dead or Alive 6. All in all, you would need to spend somewhere near $800 to experience every single piece of content developed by Maxis. You do have the ability to purchase any pack of your liking. At the end of the day, all these are just – DLCs. So, now with the game being free, you might have the idea of trying it out using Steam Family Sharing. Sims 4 Steam Family Share feature: Is it available
Unfortunately, Sims 4 doesn’t support Steam Family Share. Because the game requires a third-person account, i.e, an EA account, the family share feature is not available. Steam mentions in its FAQ that games that have these requirements can’t be supported due to technical limitations. So, as of now, you can play Sims 4 using Steam Family Share. Well, due to the fact that the game is free, we don’t think that accessing it via Steam Family Share makes sense anyways.
