Square Enix and Tri-Ace games just announced the next entry into the Star Ocean franchise on the 28th of October 2021. The title “Star Ocean: The Divine Force” was launched to mark the franchise’s 25th anniversary. The platforms announced in the trailer were the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and STEAM. Although no specific date has been set, the game is scheduled to release in 2022.
About the game:
Star Ocean: The Divine Force will feature stories in perspectives of two protagonists, each from different worlds and civilizations. Raymond is the captain of the Ydas, an interstellar commerce ship from an advanced civilization, while Laeticia, on the other hand, is a princess-knight from a planet that has an underdeveloped-fantasy civilization.
This game has a storyline that can alter depending on your decisions and interactions with characters and worlds. The events of the storyline, as well as the ally characters you meet, will vary depending on the protagonist the player picks. Despite being the sixth mainstream title in the STAR OCEAN franchise – THE DIVINE FORCE is a good place for newbies to start because it presents an entirely fresh storyline with all-new characters.
Star Ocean – The Divine Force gameplay:
The game will reportedly have a variety of playable characters as well as a free-flying environment. This makes exploration of the vast maps easier. The battle mechanisms in the trailer appear to be similar to games such as “Monster Hunter,” “God Eater,” and “Genshin Impact.”. According to information published on Square Enix games, combat attacks can be launched directly in the open world. The trailer also reveals some of the skills that may be available upon it’s release. The game will also contain classic elements of a RPG consisting of levels, skills, arts, etc. It is likely that this installment of the franchise will carry similar knowledge, sense, technical, combat and secret fighting skills like that of it’s predecessors. Playable platforms:
Except for the five platforms mentioned in the teaser, there has been no indication that Star Ocean: The Divine Force would be released on Switch. The developers have yet to fix a definitive date of release. As a result, it may take some time for the game to be verified on additional platforms. The Nintendo Switch is a hybrid console with a notoriety for being difficult to develop games for. This was confirmed by developers at Gamefreak when they first attempted to make a Pokemon Game for the Switch. Even the remastered version of “Star Ocean: First Departure” took a long time to arrive on Switch. Therefore, it is less likely that we will see Star Ocean: The Divine Force on the Switch anytime soon.
