Subnautica Below Zero: How To Hatch Eggs

Hatching an egg or eggs in the game is not a straightforward deal as you must have found out by now. Before you even get an egg, you should have an Alien Containment tank ready. The device looks like a huge aquarium and requires these materials; 5 Glass and 2 Titanium. Its blueprint is found in the Mercury II wreckage situated in Lilypad Islands.

Well, once you get the blueprint, you can craft Glass(x5) in the Fabricator with 2 Quartz. Titanium can be acquired from Limestone outcrops and Metal salvage. The Aquarium can only be crafted in a Seabase Multipurpose room. When you have the required materials, access your Habitat Builder and get to work assembling the containment. Don’t forget to build an entry hatch on the side of the containment using Quartz and Titanium. That settled, let’s show you how to hatch eggs.

  • First, get inside the containment from the hatch you built on its side.
  • Now open the in-game menu and navigate to Inventory.
  • Then select the egg that you want to hatch and place it inside the containment.
  • Close the side hatch on your way out and wait for it to hatch.

Typically eggs in the game hatch in a day which is 20 minutes in-game time. However, some take more time, so make sure to have patience. Once the egg hatches a smaller version of the creature, you can release it outside the containment.
