It appears that most of the games in the COD series have their fair share of problems which includes crashes, poor graphics, and unresponsive controls. However, we have come up with possible ways how to fix the mic not working issue in both games. These fixes are tested on a PS5, but you can try them on your Xbox console and PC as well.

Step 1) Restart Your System

The first step is to restart your console or PC and also unplug and plug back your headset. Also, ensure that your headset is turned on.

Step 2) Verify if the headset is Plugged in

The next step is to verify that your headset is plugged in. To do this, click on the headset at the top right using the Playstation button on your controller and go to Settings. Then, you click on the output device and make sure the USB Headset is selected. Head over to the Microphone and select the USB headset. You can then adjust your microphone level to verify that your microphone is loud enough.

Step 3) Verify Voice Chat is Turned On

Go over to the Call of Duty Vanguard game and click on the Options, then navigate to Settings and go over to Audio. Scroll down to the Voice Chat option where you can verify if your voice chat is turned on or off. You can also increase the voice chat volume and also microphone volume. Follow similar steps for COD Warzone.

Step 4) Test your Microphone Output

Go to the Start microphone test option in the Audio Settings and test your microphone. You should then head over to the Account & Network Tab and verify you have cross-play communication turned on. You should also verify that you didn’t accidentally mute your friend. If you discovered they’ve been muted, simply unmute them.
